Alderman Helmond arrested for fraud and scams

Former alderman Peter Tahir of Helmond is busted. The public prosecutor's Office suspects him of official corruption, forgery, fraud and embezzlement.

Justice came Tai on the track after his former party Declaration of fraud against him had done. Tahir was arrested yesterday morning at home by the National Crime Squad. The 58-year-old former alderman may since then only have contact with his lawyer.

Peter Tahir was Alderman in Helmond from 2002 to 2006 and from 2010 to 2013. He was responsible for finance and culture. In his second term he had urban management, traffic and transportation in his portfolio.

The driver fell two years ago about declarations of taxi rides from his local pub. He had to repay almost 2000 euro to the municipality.
