Increasingly rolled cannabis in Amsterdam

Figures from the city council that have been released after a written request of the CDA and D66, shows that more and more hemp plantations are found in Amsterdam.

REGION

Between January 1 and June 1 of last year were rolled up alone, 232 cannabis plantations.This happened in the region of Amsterdam, Diemen, Amstelveen, Aalsmeer and Uithoorn.By comparison, in 2014 there really 378 hemp plantations were dismantled and in 2013 about 320.

HOUSES

About half of that hemp farms found in social housing and it is estimated that three-quarters of the farming operation in a home. After the discovery of a cannabis plantation, the municipality closes the home and it does so more often.

FIGURES

That figure is up from 2013, when there were twelve times talk of closing a home. In 2014, that figure doubled, and now it is alone in the first half of 2015, 38 times hit.

FIRE HAZARD

The danger of cannabis nurseries in houses that all electrical activity can cause a short circuit and fire. By switches, wires and lights the risk of overheating is larger. To get a better view of the fire hazard, the last five years, there were 52 cannabis-related fires in the Amsterdam region.
