Theo van Gogh was murdered on November 2, 2004 by Muslim extremist Mohammed B. But have accomplices helped him to his deed? According to Minister Ronald Plasterk is no evidence of that.
The Lower House had asked last year to answers about the case Theo van Gogh. The parliamentary questions came after a broadcast of TV programs EenVandaag. Mohammed B. was given life for the murder and was the only person to be prosecuted in the case. But according to Van Straelen there is evidence that he had help: "For example there are indications that people are the Van Gogh route checked and ensured the firearm," he said last year. B., who was a member of the Hofstad group terrorist, was given several months before the murder, no payment, but still he continued to get money somehow.
Van Straelen also questioned the role of the General Intelligence and Security Service. The AIVD overheard the Hofstad group, but it only gave OM the recordings after the murder. No recordings destroyed
