18 years required for burning alive girlfriend

A 38-year-old man on trial for the burning alive of his girlfriend, this afternoon heard on appeal 18 years in prison against her demands. The man was convicted in 2013 by the court to 16 years in prison.

He was convinced that she therefore was dead and put her clothes on fire to erase traces. In reality, the woman was lying unconscious on the ground, but died yet, due to the inhalation of smoke and hot gases.

The couple had an argument because she wanted to leave him, the defendant stated. "The accused in this way the woman cruelly of her prized possession, her life, robbed and inflicted indescribable amount of pain to her relatives," said the Advocate General.
