The DNA in the case Nicole van den Hurk will be re-examined. The court in Den Bosch wants that looks even a third body at the DNA-material available.

The intention is that this is done by a forensic institute in Australia or New Zealand, because we're working with a different method than in the Netherlands. Analyses by two institutes in the Netherlands, the NFI in Rijswijk and IFS in Maastricht, have not yielded full DNA profile.

In early 2014 the Public Prosecutor announced that tbs'er Jos G. was arrested after a dna match. But because there is no full DNA profile, a match is not possible, says the defense of the G. who himself has always denied that he is guilty.

New witnesses

The lawsuit surrounding the rape and murder of 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk has resumed today, after which three weeks ago was suddenly halted when, just before the prosecution would formulate the sentencing, two new witnesses emerged.

Those are two former forensic psychiatric patients who, together with the G. have been in a TBS clinic. The G. there would have said that he brought a girl to life. Justice think it was about Nicole. In recent weeks, further investigation into the statements of two witnesses.

Today there were no further details given at the hearing on those statements. The case is referred back to the magistrate. That is going to talk behind closed doors with the witnesses to determine their reliability.

The 15-year-old Nicole disappeared on October 6, 1995 when she went by bicycle from her grandmother for a job in a supermarket. Six weeks later her body was found in the woods between Mierlo and Lierop.
