Livable IJsselmonde refuses to cooperate with the investigation into the abuses in their own area committee on the South, which the Rotterdam City Council has decided unanimously.

This writing seven rebellious members plus the burgerlid Necat Kaya in a letter sent Tuesday to Alderman Joost Eerdmans (areas Livable), also leader of Rotterdam's largest coalition party. "We believe that this is a (beaten by) storm in a teacup. We are counting on your commitment to normalize the situation by the area committee IJsselmonde himself to give the order to settle the difference of opinion. "

Coup

The letter follows the coup, more than a month ago, with the rebellious eight members of the district advisory board vice chairman Michael Braal (CDA) wegstemden. The dissatisfaction in the South is largely due to the arrival of a refugee center in the Beverwaard. A large majority (31 of the 45 council seats) of the Rotterdam city council has decided, to the fury of Livable.

Councillor Bart Joost van Rij of Liveable tried to mediate in recent weeks in the crisis of confidence in IJsselmonde. He is livid about the obstruction under the leadership of his party, area committee chairman Norbert Swaneveld. ,, He hits the shelf completely wrong. Swaneveld wants to make a minority silenced. That is a democratic mortal sin. ''

The support for the controversial director, fervent opponent of the arrival of a reception center in the 'tilt neighborhood' Beverwaard, gradually decreases within Liveable. He let himself last night know to be aware of anything wrong. ,, We do what we have to do. ''

In the co Swaneveld letter signed by Eerdmans gets buck-passing. He would have failed in his "fatherly role" by proposing a reconciliation meeting. As a result, should a "witch hunt" originated "with the result a total of inquiry into the functioning of the area committee IJsselmonde.

mediation
Remarkably enough, it was the group around Swaneveld which Eerdmans' proposal for mediation earlier rejected. Row therefore said to be speechless. ,, They first got the gauntlet thrown down, but they ignored it and now choose to draw the swords themselves. Call me crazy, but here I do not understand. ''

According to Van Rij the residents are the main victims of the power struggle. ,, They have nicely done their say on the asylum seekers' center at the consultation evenings. Now they see a tormented part of the government that dares to claim that they represent eight of all residents and boldly put the knife on the table. You will be there but live! Then you stayed nicely in the monkey. ''
