The controversial dentist Mark N., also known as the "horror dentist", was not involved in the death of his ex-wife.
A cold case team of the police has investigated a statement from the dentist about it and the medical history of the woman. There is no indication showed that the man has the death of the woman on his conscience.
This was reported by the Public Prosecutor (OM) Wednesday. N. (51) had against the Canadian immigration authorities and later also declared against the Dutch police that the woman he supposedly killed in 2006. Its surroundings assumed that she was deceased by alcohol abuse. N. in France sued for mistreatment of patients.
In the village of Chateau-Chinon, he ran a clinic where he would have a hundred patients treated in a bizarre and painful way, often without medical necessity. He reportedly drew healthy teeth, broke his jaw and he let down parts of instruments in the gums.
The doctor was arrested in September 2014 in Canada and brought to the Netherlands. Later, he was extradited to France, where he is taken to a psychiatric ward of the prison in the French town of Saran. He was placed there at the request of two investigating judges. N. has been deleted in the Netherlands as a dentist. When he was removed from the BIG register, he may no longer exercise his profession. N. had been in France for the disqualification, but so far has not transferred to the Netherlands.
