The Dutch couple that was murdered in Costa Rica, was thinking about returning to Skipton. According to the neighborhood they felt less safe in Costa Rica.

Hans Snelders and Sita Dhawtal lived in an old dike in the MAASDORP. Two or three times a year they came back there to arrange things and people to look at. The last time was in October.

This week it was announced that they found dead in their hardwood plantation near Puntarenas, southwest of San José. According to local police, they probably have become a victim of a robbery, just after Christmas. Their employee Rivar Avenec Montalban was found dead.

In Skipton is shocked by the news that comes the murdered couple from the village. They were not very familiar: according to a neighbor they were already settled in Costa Rica since 2009, and the last three, four years continuously.

The 63-year-old Hans Snelders, born in Westervoort, ran a 400 hectares of teak plantation. The former trainer / coach and publisher - to his home address in Skipton still be the publisher and the coaching and training firm ingescheven - was previously hired by the Association of Buyers Ganadera La Flecha. The mainly Dutch and Belgian members, 340 had invested money in the plantation. The proceeds from the sale of the felled timber went to the members. Snelders manager was there and took care of the maintenance of the plantation and selling the timber. He was also engaged in the development of the site. It was intended that bungalows were built.

He was there with his wife built a house in which they lived. It is according to a neighbor of Snelders a remote area, where you can easily unseen can come on site. Snelders saw it stay in Costa Rica, according to the area as 'just work'.

He would have said that it was not safe there lately become more and they therefore considered a strong return to the Netherlands. In 2015 there were killed 530 people, the largest number in years (471 in 2014, 411 in 2013). Tuesday was still committed a murder in Costa Rica on a Groesbeek couple. Henk and Carolien Peters run a bed and breakfast. She survived, but return to the Netherlands.

Hans Snelders has three sons in the Netherlands. He also had a daughter Talitha. The 25 year old was in Amsterdam in 2013 in Heerhugowaard along the track found after she was hit by a train. The Public Ministry then stated that it was suicide, but offered that conclusion early last year to apologize because there was no evidence.

The family has always disputed that it was suicide, the true story has never been established. Whether and when the remains of the Meuse Bommelse couple Netherlands to be transferred, is questionable.
The sons were yesterday unavailable for comment.
