Microsoft today sent the latest software update for three old versions of Internet Explorer, versions 8, 9 and 10.

After today, they are definitively written off. Through the update, people are urged to download a newer version.

The software maker has been working to write off the old browsers and left in August 2014 that would stop the support after today. But that does not mean that there are millions of people worldwide who use one of the programs. According to data from NetMarketShare dated December representing the three versions together have about 20 percent of the market.

Prone to attacks

Users are recommended to update as soon as possible to at least version 11. For that Microsoft will stop sending updates, problems in the browsers no longer be resolved and they are therefore more vulnerable to attacks from hackers.

Version 11 is the latest browser version. The company supplied the launch of Windows 10 'Edge' along, which is now used in addition to Internet Explorer 11.
