According to a survey by Ipsos agency, commissioned by the NIS. The reason for the survey is the broadcast "100 years dry feet?" Which the NIS devotes extensive attention tonight to the Dutch battle against the water since the Zuiderzee Flood, today 100 years ago.

More than four in ten Dutch (44 percent) did not know or not know what to do during a flood. And more than half (53 percent) is in no way prepared for a flood. Very few people have, say, a contingency plan (3 percent) or an emergency kit (five percent).

More than 40 percent believe themselves to live in a flood-prone area and 10 percent do not know. The website overstroomik.nl respondents could then assess how high the water comes into the private street in a great flood. Then gave half to live in a flood-prone area.
