Doctor Gives mistakes after death teenagers

The two Rotterdam teenagers were full of life, ignorant of their serious heart condition. After an inspection beaten in the hospital was no alarm. They could do anything they wanted. Their death also came out of nowhere. Suddenly they were snatched from their families and friends.

Roos Velthoven (16) jumped in 2013 on holiday in Italy in Lake Maggiore, when her heart stopped beating. Juri Rosvetov (19) attended a lecture last year at the Erasmus University, when the 'nice and serious "student Econometrics suddenly became unwell. For both, help came too late.

The victims knew each other. According to their parents the same cardiologist however played a crucial role in making the wrong diagnosis. They served independently a complaint against the doctor at the Medical Disciplinary Board. On Tuesday, the complaints dealt with individually.

Black
Juri came in 2011 for the first time to the Ijsselland Hospital. The sporty boy suddenly saw "black eye" when he cycled to school. Complained of palpitations. In the hospital he first came up at the emergency room and later at the cardiologist. There, too, he told about the palpitations, as his mother knows for sure.

The cardiologist denies. And the notes of the emergency aid where it was, he did not read. He was given a form with information, but it was difficult to read because it was under the paper on which he wrote himself.

He also did not see the view of the computer on the ECG, which were correct. Eventually he came to a misdiagnosis. Juri did only three years later to come back. There was nothing seriously wrong. ,, You think the doctor knows better than you. We relied on him, '' says the mother of Juri. ,, In retrospect it was the wrong conclusion, '' says the cardiologist.

Bike Test
Roos was the cardiologist the only one who saw the ECG of a broken bike test, in which the young girl was unwell. Thereafter, the film disappeared into the archive, without which he had beaten alarm. Rose went on vacation for the last time.

His colleagues, who previously received the disciplinary reprimand and warning, went down on his judgment. Unhappy
According to his lawyer, the death of Rose and Juri "very unfortunate incident." ,, But nothing points to structural dysfunction. '' However, the parents of the two young patients to question his suitability as a doctor.

The specialist no longer works in the Ijsselland Hospital, which numerous measures adopted after the death of the two. He works in Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam, in a larger practice, where young children - just like now in the Ijsselland - always be referred to a pediatric cardiologist.
