Kinner preys on bankruptcy Scapino

Shoe Retailer Ziengs want to take over stores of Scapino.

ZiengsaastopbankroetScapino-1.jpgThe Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) on Tuesday announced Ziengs requested approval for a takeover, and is there subject agree. Unclear is whether the family business has its eye on all of the approximately 190 stores of Scapino.

Scapino was the last in the row chains of Dutch retailer Macintosh, which was declared bankrupt. The chains of Macintosh succumbed to high debt and poor market conditions. Earlier exceeded formulas Dolcis, Invito, Manfield, PRO Sports and Steve Madden all the same fate as Scapino. Within four weeks should be known whether the acquisition may proceed.

The curators said to have been in talks with a number of parties with which they hope to soon provide for a restart. Kinner, which has 77 stores in the Netherlands, was not available for comment Tuesday.
