This follows a number of incidents where women and girls in the pool would be sexually harassed.

Yesterday a fugitive was arrested because he was a ten year old girl would have detained a few seconds. Two witnesses found this inappropriate behavior and enlisted in the police who picked up the 20-year-old man of Iraqi origin. After questioning he was released without any conditions, reports Het Laatste Nieuws.

Several incidents

It is not the first time that the presence of refugees in the pool causes a stir. Earlier this week, women complained that they did not feel at ease in their swimwear. Earlier there was also a 'gluurincident', where an applicant was involved.

We then agreed on how we could improve the situation. But after this incident occurred, it still weighs a lot heavier. That's why I want to posit the proposal for a swimming ban. We have that debate Monday afternoon with a weigh for and against and will focus on the legal possibilities, "the mayor explains.

For adults only

It could result in a ban of several months for adult asylum seekers until the procedure is finished. The Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers will now examine whether the measures should be taken. "According to our information, it is not a serious incident, in the sense that we want to draw any hasty conclusions. In the shelter we remember the people will again conduct, possibly with additional attention to the behavior in the pool, "said spokeswoman Mieke Candaele.
