To test her hypothesis, she asked 68 teenagers between 12 and 18 years old to enjoy themselves for eight hours without technology. That means no TV, no computer, no console or smartphone. They were allowed to read, write, make music, painting, crafts, singing, hiking and much more.

Because it was purely that they could entertain themselves, there was no interaction with others. During the experiment, respondents were allowed to talk to the bus driver or cashier example. We put the results for you here.

3 Only three teenagers held out for eight full hours
Of all the 68 participants, only three teenagers kept it for eight hours without full Internet access. The rest dropped out prematurely.

4 Do not live without the Internet
After the experiment, a number of questions are put to the adolescents. Certainly 51 of 68 participants hereby used terms that are often associated with addiction. So many teens say they can not live without Internet, to depend on them and gave them even to a compulsive user.

But fortunately, there is good news! Six participants decided after the experiment on their own time to spend another eight hours without internet and it was a lot better. After two or three attempts, most were able to live a day offline. Detoxification can so much!
