From happiness to despair: the selfies the adventurer who lost his life in Antarctica

Henry Worsley (55) wanted the first Antarctic crossed only on foot, but only 50 kilometers from the finish he collapsed.

The polar explorer died later in hospital, leaving a series of catchy selfies after which we see him sliding into desperation. "My trip comes to an end," is his last message.

The former British SAS officer wanted to finish the unfinished crossing adventurer Ernest Shackleton, but his trip of 1500 kilometers turned 48 kilometers long. A completely exhausted and dehydrated Worsley Friday alerted the emergency services, but all help came too late. The adventurer died Sunday in hospital through "total organ failure."

That Worsley as long as it has sustained, he owes entirely to his towering willpower.
Every day he dragged nearly 150 kilograms of material along in temperatures went up to 50 degrees below freezing.
