PROBATION
Van der G. came in May 2014 under conditions free, after serving two thirds of his sentence of eighteen years in prison. He shot Fortuyn on May 6, 2006 death. The conditions include that he must report weekly to the probation. he is not even in Rotterdam, Hilversum, The Hague and the home of relatives of the victim come. Moreover, it is forbidden to have contact with relatives and the press.

Van der G. was filmed last September by the TV program Focal reporter with a hidden camera. In the broadcast, Van der G. said that making the 'accidental' pictures were put in scene. That he would have broken it imposed special conditions (partly) because there would be a violation of the imposed media ban. Only later it turned out that there had been extensive and high-level consultations on the pictures between the OM, the rehabilitation, the NCTV, the Ministry of Security and Justice and the attorneys of Van der G.
