The court looks at the case against the Amsterdam ex-politician Delano Felter Monday again.

media_xll_3570088-1.jpgI hate homosexuals. If everyone agrees with me, I piss them all out ", was one of the statements of the former leader of the Republican Modern Party (RMP) in 2010 for the camera AT5. Gay Belangenvereniging COC filed charges.

Felter was acquitted by the court and the Amsterdam Court of group defamation and discrimination. The Public Prosecutor (OM) did not lay down with this statement and went to the Supreme Court. Who decided late in 2014 that the case be reviewed to be.

'Gay Fiel becomes too dominant'
,, The gay profile is simply too dominant. I think there are too many homosexuals sit in the directors '', as referred to ex-politician Felter in 2010 on the Balkenende government. ,, Those people with sexual deviations which must be plain fact contested by heterosexuals. ''

The COC was not the only one who filed a complaint against the Amsterdam politician. Even Frank van Dalen, then VVD councilor and president of the Gay Pride organization Progay, filed a complaint because of the statements. The Public Prosecutor (OM) continued the leader of the RMP in 2010 for discrimination.

Freedom of speech
Felter was acquitted by the court in Amsterdam and in 2013 the court was in the capital to the same verdict. The court was of the opinion that the statements of Felter fall within the limits of freedom of expression. A politician has much room to express his opinion, thought the court.

A politician must be able to hurt and shock, but must also ensure that his statements are not in conflict with the law and the rule of law. This applies not only for inciting hatred and violence, as well as statements that incite intolerance.
