Major anti-terror operation in Germany suspect has ties to Islamist network in Molenbeek

In Berlin and two other regions in Germany, the police today searched several homes and shelters for refugees.

media_xll_8375253-1.jpgTwo Algerians were arrested. They are suspected of "being in contact with terrorist group Islamic State." Two other suspects were identified but not arrested. Why not is not clear. One of the four suspects was linked to an Islamist network in our country.

There were 450 runners, including members of the special units, used for large-scale anti-terrorist operations in Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

Hannover and Attendorn (NRW) were simultaneously searched shelters for refugees. In a shelter for refugees in Attendorn is the prime suspect, arrested a 35-year-old Algerian. A compatriot of his was caught by the collar in Berlin.

The two other suspects have been identified. However, they were not arrested. That might be a police spokesman know. Why the two were not arrested, is not clear.

The witty men suspected of links with the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) and would have had plans according to security sources for an attack. Regarding the location for this is not known for the time being.

The Attendorn arrested the main suspect received military training in Syria, according to a communiqué of the Berlin police. The police came on his trail by information from the German domestic intelligence agency, known as the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. Upon further investigation were contacts of the man to light with Islamists in Berlin and Hanover (Lower Saxony).

Since the attacks in Paris from November 13, the German authorities several times indicated that Germany is threatened also by jihadist attacks.

Molenbeek

One of the four suspects to whom was this morning sought with the major anti-terrorist operation of the German police, had links to an Islamist network in Belgium. This is informed by the police.

A 26-year-old Algerian traveled at least once in Molenbeek, where several suspects lived or stayed the attacks in Paris.
