Twelve years he was wrongly fixed in the Spanish prison. Thursday the 43-year-old Romano van der Dussen was released from prison on the island of Mallorca.
He wants to sue the Spanish state for his wrongful conviction.
"If this is not resolved in Spain, if they do not give justice to me, then I go to international legal bodies to sue the Spanish State. I do not accept that my name Defame for something I did not do, "he told RTL Nieuws.
The Spanish Supreme Court Thursday overturned one of the three convictions for which Van der Dussen disappeared behind bars in 2003. It is a rape case in Fuengirola. Research in Britain showed that the DNA of the offender matches that of the convicted British murderer Mark Dixie.
The judge then also found him guilty of assault and robbery. Before that, he got another nine years in prison. Van der Dussen will do everything to get deleted the other two cases also from the books.
