The new spitsbus NS commitment to relieve the horror section of the Zaan line remained eerily empty on Monday. No commuter felt the pressure three times as long distance Castricum - Forum Amsterdam Sloterdijk than - overcrowded - train there doing over.
Travelers seem to prefer to stand on the train, then take the spitsbus. Even 70 minutes makes the bus over the distance where the train 22 minutes to do. Commuters get a free drink to compensate for the longer travel time. But this did not appeal to the travelers.
Only journalists knew that first morning to find their way to the bus "should alleviate the crowds in the train on this route for travelers and must ensure that everyone is on time at their destination," NS says.
The buses run from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm every half hour from Castricum through Krommenie-Assendelft to Amsterdam Sloterdijk. In the afternoon rush hours the buses in reverse. Then leave the first bus at 15:55 am and the last at 17.25.

The spitsbus is one of the measures for the crowds to combat this year and early next year, because there are not enough trains. At the end of this year, driving the first new Sprinter rail NS end of 2014 has urgently ordered. To further limit the crowds, put NS instance reserve trains and first class seats removed in some sprinters and replaced by second-class seats.
