20 months jail for former imam Haselhoef

The court in The Hague, former imam Abdullah Haselhoef Thursday sentenced to twenty months in prison for many years with childcare benefit fraud and benefit fraud.

4fdxotmazk5e_std320-1.jpgThe prosecution had demanded a sentence of thirty months against the former imam.Haselhoef between early February 2006 through January 2009 for childminding agency Family House EUR 2.2 million on childcare allowance.

He asked, inter alia for people who did not work and gave people as a childminder, but all were found not to provide shelter.

The amounts he received childcare allowance, he funneled a million to own bank accounts and businesses. He also paid "salary" of the so-called carers.

Haselhoef acquired after the attacks in New York in 2001 nationwide as unofficial spokesman of the Muslims in the Netherlands.
