A red, yellow or white rose, gerbera, a lily. Each survivor chose a flower that reminded him or her to his or her loved one deceased. Put together they form color-and imaginative bouquets.

ENK202-1.jpgSaturday was the second time that the Westfriesgasthuis meetings held for relatives of people who have died over the past year in hospital. There is a clear need for, because in the morning there were about 140 more than 110 interested and in the afternoon, which tried to close a difficult period.

Employees of the hospital took care of the service. They make music as singers, bagpipe player, pianist or cross flutist, or spoke in a poem or story. So they want to give hope to those present. The highlight is read back the names of the deceased, where survivors can leave a flower. ,, All these flowers symbolize the people who we remember today, '' says spiritual nurturer Annemieke Kuin. ,, Each flower is unique, just as every human being. ''

Marjon long journey and Henri Villarreal are very satisfied with the service. Long journey ' father in February last year died and now she supports her mother-in-law that it was important to her husband this way to think. ,, He already had everything but eventually he died of colon cancer, a bowel perforation ', ' says the widow. Her daughter-in-law explains:,, it was good. Otherwise he was in a nursing home, because he has nothing more could and he had already said that he would not want to. Yet an afternoon like this good for processing. ''

The hospital shows that it feels sympathy and not a company that itself with figures and products. ,, Already a week after my husband died, I was called that everything had gone and whether it went well with me. If I wanted to, I could drop by to talk about everything '', thinks Mrs long journey back with heat.

Not of stone the human aspect in the hospital is also reflected in the words of Oncology nurse Gaby de Melo:,, I hope along with you during the whole process, '' she says with light vibrating voice. Afterwards light them: people often think that we,, of stone, without emotion. But we are also all people with feeling and of course we also feel something if a patient dies. It is nice that we can show that this way. ''
