Pupils honor teacher who was killed in MH17 with book

Laurens van der Graaff taught Dutch in Amsterdam. He came on July 17, 2014 died in the MH17 disaster.

It was his mission to make students excited about literature and poetry. Now, more than a half year after the disaster, it can be said that the mission was successful. The students of Geert Groote College are in fact busy creating a poetry book.

TRIBUTE
Together with students from other schools are working on a poetry collection of stories of students. To get the most beautiful poems in the book, students are supervised by professional authors. The target? Make a wonderful tribute in memory of a special teacher.

For special, which was Laurens according to his students. ,, He challenged us. You wanted to make him proud, '' said student Puck against AT5. ,, He gave your feedback and orders we received were missions where you had to really think. "" When the book is finished, it is not yet known.

Laurens van der Graaf was on July 17, 2014 with his girlfriend Karlijn Keijzer en route to Bali. The couple and 296 other passengers on flight MH-17 were killed.
