A group of five EU countries, including the Netherlands, has during the negotiations on the association agreement with Ukraine opposition to EU membership for the country. That says a French diplomat Pierre Vermont Friday in an interview with the newspaper.
,, There was always the same discussion. A group of countries, including the Baltic States, Poland, Britain and Sweden belong wild in the final text invariably incorporate a notion about the prospect of membership, '' says Vermont. ,, But a second group of countries consisting of France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, opposed it. On Wednesday, April 6th voting Netherlands in a referendum on the association agreement between the EU and Ukraine. Should there come a no, then the convention could possibly be divided by the parties, says Vermont: ,, For the trade agreement only requires a majority vote. Be the political part, for which unanimity is required, pour into a separate treaty. '' As the Netherlands do not have to join.
