Number of reports of sexual abuse in schools soart

The Education Inspectorate is concerned about the growing number of reports of sexual abuse or sexual harassment entering. In a third of cases, teachers and other educational staff identified as perpetrators.

In the school year 2014/2015 were 112 calls from sexual offenses such as adultery, rape or sexual assault. A year earlier there were 86, the Education Inspectorate reports Wednesday.

Many reports came from secondary schools (54), but also in primary schools played 36 incidents. The inspection calls on schools to work on codes of conduct for their teachers. Schools and school boards are in fact legally obliged to ensure the social, psychological and physical safety of students.

At the Inspectorate were 254 reports of sexual harassment inside, five more than a school year before. It was pawing or inappropriate behavior on social media.

VIOLENCE
There were fewer reports in past school of psychological violence (from 1,174 to 1,098) and physical violence (from 543 to 426). Furthermore, the Education Inspectorate sees social trends reflected in the reports. Thus, the number of reports of discrimination and there were also more reports in about radicalization. There were this year for the first reports in about students who may want to leave for Syria.
