The Belgian police are in the highest state of alert after a call from a Syriëganger with his mother in Antwerp.
The message that the jihadist would have given to his mother, could signal a future attack in the Belgian city.
The terrorist told his mother that she should stay away from crowded places in Antwerp. Think of busy shopping or a movie theater. The police take the matter seriously and has launched an investigation, but says that this kind of messages are daily fare.
,, In times of heightened terror threat, we take such reports very seriously, '' said a spokesman for the local police Friday in Het Nieuwsblad. ,, And I would however add that this kind of rumor has become almost an everyday occurrence. "The federal police are investigating the case.
