The 18-month-old Luna was so severely neglected that she was paralyzed, severely malnourished and parts of her body were eaten by ants. Her mother was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison.
The court took Mariana Lizeth Salas Hernandez (20) not for her daughter, writing various media. Luna had fallen when she was two months old because her mother watched her. Therefore, the girl from Chihuahua (Mexico) was paralyzed.
15 days without food
Neighbors found the girl very often was left alone, warned youth. Employees of them were shocked when they found Luna. The child had not received food for 15 days and was severely malnourished. Her body was covered with ants, which had even eaten body parts of the toddler.
The girl was taken to hospital, where she died after two months. According to doctors the child was suffering from extreme pain.
Convicted of murder
The court sentenced Mariana mother for murder. They will have to spend the next 30 years in prison and fined 12,000 euros.
