Status holders, asylum seekers with a residence permit, no longer get automatic priority in the allocation of an apartment.
At least, that is the government. Municipalities are still required to take account status holders in an emergency scheme for seniors. The Lower House has long insisted on the deletion of this rule.

The councils do retain the power to appoint status holders as urgent group home seekers.
The amendment of the law is part of a package of measures which the government wants to promote the departure of status holders from asylum centers, without this leading to displacement of "normal" house hunters. So there should be more sober and small-scale housing for status holders and other home seekers.
