Schippers wants peace around birth care

Minister Edith Schippers (Health) wants to talk to obstetricians, gynecologists and maternity nurses.

Professionals in the home care do not manage to agree on the best care for pregnant women. The minister has the professional groups involved invited to pregnancy and birth for consultations.

Schippers notify the House that they find undesirable ,, '' it does not work this zorgprofesionals to agree. It calls on the parties concerned to join forces.

Royal Dutch Organisation of Midwives (KNOV) recently rejected the new standard of care integrated home care. The midwives also pledged to reduce infant mortality in the Netherlands confidence in the administration of the College Perinatal Care, a partnership that assignment.

In 2003, the Netherlands had one of the highest infant mortality rates in Europe. Since then, improved collaboration between obstetricians and gynecologists and take the infant mortality down although still could further downward according to the minister.
