Erin Caffey is 24 and there is a prison sentence of 42 years in a maximum-security prison in Texas. She is eight years away. As a teenager, she gave in 2008 the order to murder her entire family, at very brutally.
She is one of America's most deadly women. What possessed her? Piers Morgan, the famous British columnist and TV figure, was looking for her. The most surreal moment was during Morgan's interview with Caffey when she Amazing Grace set in. Loupe Clean. You can hear in the trailer below.
So Piers Morgan describes his interviewee, Erin Caffey: "My first impression of her was that she looked sweet and innocent, as befits someone who had never come stable family in a loving, problems and sang every Sunday in the church choir with her mom, dad and two younger brothers. But to say that she is not who she seems, is the understatement of the century. Caffey is the most dangerous woman I ever met in my life. "
Erin Caffey devised the murder plot on her own family when she was only sixteen. She retired three accomplices: her boyfriend Charlie Wilkinson (18), his friend Charles Waid (20) and Waids sweetheart Bobbi Johnson (18). The two men fired Erin's mother, Penny, down and then worked her with a samurai sword. Penny Caffey was almost decapitated. Erin's 13-year-old brother Matthew was shot in the head. The younger brother, Tyler (8), was stabbed with a samurai sword. Father Terry had five bullets in the body and was left for dead in the house that the killers burned down. He survived miraculously.
Motive
The four young thugs were not drunk or under the influence of drugs on the night of the murders. The girls waited in the car while the boys struck violently.
How does a seemingly ordinary teenager into the most horrific acts imaginable? The only reason seems to be the ancestral ban a few days before the massacre: Erin could no longer see her boyfriend Charlie Wilkinson. The heartbreak did ignite the girl in anger, and she wore her love and her boyfriend to murder her family. "I was in shock, angry and hurt," she tells Piers Morgan. "This was the guy with whom I would spend the rest of my life. He loved me. We'd get married."
"In her case, you know that you look at evil," says Morgan. "She's the most evil woman I ever met." Her crimes are therefore hard to explain. Until that first march in 2008, there was not a cloud in the sky. "It comes down to making choices," Erin says coldly about this. "If I look back now, it was all just stupid. What brought it on? They did not hit me, they are not starved me."
Morgan also visited father Terry, the only one who survived the inhuman brutality. Terry Caffey saw the two robbers along his son beastly completers with a sword. The severely injured Terry wanted to die himself until he learned that his daughter was still alive. He wants to believe today that his then 16-year-old little girl is the mastermind behind the murders. From a police interrogation shows that Erin had already asked her former boyfriend to kill her family.
Forgiveness
It sounds amazing but Terry Caffey has forgiven his daughter. He visits her still a month in prison. Beware her 59th can be released Erin. The executors of the murder, Wilkinson and Waid, got to ask Terry not death but life. "I wish they had the chance for repentance."
For his two-part ITV series Killer Women with Piers Morgan said the journalist still two other notorious American murderers: Rhonda Glover and Amanda Lewis. The first is a former Miss Texas who shot her boyfriend. The second is a Florida mother who drowned her own hands seven year old daughter in the pool in the garden. Next Wednesday is part one aired.
