The amendment is one of the requirements set by Brussels for the abolition of visa requirements for Turks. According Brussels abuse the Turkish authorities the current laws to silence critics.

,, We are going our way, and you go your way, '' the president said about the requirement of Brussels, in a speech which was broadcast live on television. Human rights groups and Western countries complaining for some time that Turkey terrorism defines too wide and used the laws to address critical journalists and academics.

The lifting of the visa requirement was another of Turkey's demands in the refugee agreement with the European Union. European officials said earlier this week confident that Turkey is a list of requirements attached to the visa-free travel would grant. With the departure of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu - which increasingly clashed with Erdogan and walking out later this month - the deal with Turkey, however, seems to be jeopardized.

The Turkish Minister for EU Affairs said Thursday that Turkey has already done all it can. ,, It is not possible to change the laws and regulations on terrorism while our country is in an intense struggle against various terrorist organizations, '' said Volkan Bozkir. The Minister stressed that Turkey has already granted some European requests. ,, We can not afford ourselves the luxury to make further changes. ''
