Badr Hari was arrested Thursday at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. He was flying on the point to the Netherlands. It is not known why the martial artist was arrested, reports the Moroccan news website Le 360.
Le 360 is based on a police source. The 31-year-old Hari would have been repeatedly arguing in the Moroccan city of Marrakech and even fought, but it's not clear whether he was therefore arrested.
His lawyer Bénédicte Ficq let AD know "know nothing."
Conviction
Hari was in October during an appeal last year was sentenced to 24 months in jail , 10 months probation. He was on trial for a series of assaults in the Amsterdam nightlife, including that of businessman Koen Everink in the Amsterdam ArenA at Sensation 2012. A sum compensation of 45,000 euro also was part of the punishment.
As Hari had been detained for several months, the remaining punishment came in at about six months. He went to the Supreme Court. Because the appeal case at the Supreme Court is, Hari could just go to Morocco and there enjoying life as a superstar .
Retirement?
Former K1 champion told a month later in an interview with the Moroccan radio station Radio Mars end his career fighting to continue. It was something he did for two years. A boxing gala, scheduled in Morocco, would be the last action of the topbokser. ,, I want to fight for the last time in Marrakech, '' said Badr in November.
