Police say Darren Flux-Edmonds died at an address on the Isle of Wight, and his daughter Keziah died later in hospital.
Police have named a father and daughter who died on the Isle of Wight on Wednesday.
Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44, was found dead at a house in Cromwell Avenue, in East Cowes.
His daughter Keziah Flux-Edmonds, 6, was discovered unconscious at the address and was taken to St Mary's Hospital.
She died a short time later.
Mr Flux-Edmonds had posted a number of smiling photographs of his young daughter on his Facebook page in recent months.
He also posted a series of quotes about heartbreak and pain, including one that read: "Lord, my heart hurts right now. I have no idea what I need, but you do. Please help."
Investigations into the exact circumstances of the deaths are continuing and post mortems are being carried out.
The family, who are being supported by specialist officers, has asked for privacy.
The bodies of two dogs were also found at the house.
Police said on Wednesday: "At this stage police are treating this as an isolated incident and we would like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk."
Local Councillor Julia Baker-Smith said: "My sincerest thoughts are with the family and friends and all involved in this tragedy.
"Everyone is shocked and devastated."
Sky News reporter Charlotte Lomas said a candlelit vigil is expected to be held on Thursday night for Keziah, who has been described as a 'beautiful, courageous little girl.'
