The expenditure incurred by the Central Works Council (COR) of the police did, were "not illegal". That says President Frank Gaines Thursday against NRC.
The police launched an investigation into the spending of the budget of the CWC, it was Wednesday. "There are questions raised at the effectiveness of a number of expenditure," said the police. Further announcements are not done.
Sources say against the newspaper that President Gaines would have submitted invoices for thousands of euros in unclear. Also there dinners and trips are invoiced. Those signals are according to Gaines gossip: "there are people who want to aannaaien me an ear."
The budget of the CWC would have been last year 1.6 million euro. That money is intended mainly for training.
