' Less social housing by landlord charge '

The landlord tax must be abolished. This couples Aedes (the Association of housing corporations), the living bond and the Association of Netherlands municipalities (VNG) following a survey by the University of Groningen.

The research shows that the charge have a negative impact on the availability of social housing and for households with lower income.

Since 2013 should owners of social housing (especially corporations) the landlord charge. But Aedes, the living bond and the VNG say the money is needed for more social housing for different groups of house hunters.

The researchers conclude that it is better to broaden the levy to all properties, including non-social housing and buy homes.

Minister Stef Blok (live) currently shows also conduct research into the effectiveness of the landlord charge.
