Extra monitoring after indications attack Brussels

The Belgian authorities have indications about a possible attack in Brussels during the month of Ramadan. Agents and soldiers in the coming weeks to increased surveillance at Brussels keep terraces, schools and hospitals.

The authorities have all soldiers who since the attacks of 22 March on the streets dedicated extra vigilant. According to the information are terraces, mostly because of the European Championship, schools and hospitals potential targets of a new attack during Ramadan. The Islamic fasting period is started early last week and runs until 5 July.

The threat level for the time being despite the indications is not increased from 3 to 4. The highest level is only set if there is a specific time and specific location for an attack. This would also mean that public life in Brussels again locked with a so-called lockdown, as after the previous attacks.
