The number of abductions of children from or to Netherlands is slightly decreased. Of 247 in 2014 to 237 last year. That's average down to every working day a kidnapping.
Three quarters of the transnationally abducted children will not return. Apart from the actual kidnappings there were also 375 cases last year of an impending child abduction.
The Centre international child abductions comes with these figures on the day that a new campaign begins to warn parents against child abductions, which only travel with a child.
Additional checks during the summer holiday the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary extra check. The military police expected about 40 additional investigations a day and warns parents that they might miss their flight.
This can be prevented by in each case to fill out a form on which the other parent gives permission for the trip.
