The azc are overcrowded, and in recent months there were many stories out about gay men who threatened or bullied. In the House, a majority to form a separate reception center for minorities, but the COA sees not sit.

Therefore come from 1 August to almost any location in which confidential gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people can go. Who trust officers receive special training, reportsDe Volkskrant . They are also linked to staff safety in the asylum seekers' center.

SEPARATE WINGS

The new approach goes against what Secretary Klaas Dijkhoff hitherto always said. He recently wrote to the House that there are no counselors come as a gay asylum seeker can go to any employee of an asylum seekers' center. He also did not set aside the vulnerable asylum seekers, because the government claimed Dijkhoff must deal with the perpetrators.

According to the COA states that principle remains: the homosexual asylum seekers are not collected separately, says a spokesman in the newspaper. But there are within the azc's sometimes wings for women and gay refugees are sometimes put in rooms next to each other. The latter is done at least in Amsterdam, Almere and Zeist.

FIRST LAWSUIT

The protection of minorities in the asylum seekers' center is a big problem. So in December ten were gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people put in a separate shelter in Alphen aan den Rijn because they were harassed. The Syrian transgender Maazen was threatened by a Syrian inmate death. Monday is the case against the accused - it is the first thing to violence against homosexuals in an asylum seekers' center.

The Syrian suspect denies he threatened Maazen. He says there are three witnesses to support his story. The case also had been on June 16, but when there were not enough interpreters. The case was therefore arrested.
