British Prime Minister dismisses Brexiteer Gove as Minister

Gove will replace as Minister of Justice who is not yet known.

The British Justice Minister Michael Gove has of the new British Prime Minister May been told that he does not return in the Cabinet, British media report.

Gove was one of the leaders of the Brexit camp in run-up to the referendum and wanted after David Cameron wanted to follow up as the leader of the British, but got too few votes of his party members.

By Gove-also known as the mastermind behind the Brexit campaign called-was previously expected that he would lead the campaign of Johnson, as he also did during the Brexit. At the last minute he decided to fight against Johnson and a throw into the premiership. That came to many as a surprise and was seen as treason. Gove had mentioned several times to have no interest to premier.

According to NRC-correspondent Titia Ketelaar was the dismissal of Gove in line with expectations:

( "It would have been remarkable if she had given him a new job. Many of his colleagues thought he had gone too far with his political death blow to Boris Johnson.")

Who Gove will replace the justice minister is not known yet. May, who became prime minister Wednesday, making Thursday the rest of her government announced. Wednesday the first major ministerial posts were filled. Johnson is Minister for Foreign Affairs, while Philip Hammond moves to Finance. This finance minister George Osborne was sacked.
