Turkish army says power to have taken

The army in Turkey says it has taken over power in the country. Premier Yildirim says that a part of the army a attempted coup d ' état has done and indicates that people should remain calm.

In a statement, the army said among other things that human rights will be respected and that all ties will be maintained with other countries. Furthermore, the law will be enforced and remain the first priority.

Erdogan in Mongolia
Erdogan would not currently exist in Turkey, but at a summit of Asian and European leaders in Mongolia. Also, Prime Minister Rutte is there.

The traffic to and from Ataturk Airport is discontinued in Istanbul. That happened after reports that a section of the army had made an attempt at a coup.

Shots at police headquarters
According to local media reports shots were heard at police headquarters in Istanbul. Ankara would soldiers have been taken hostage at the headquarters of the army.
