The regional train from Treuchtlingen to Würzburg passengers attacked with an ax and knife in a 17-year-old refugee from Afghanistan. Four people were seriously injured and were treated fourteen people because they were in shock.

PURSUIT

Police reported that the man fled after the attack, but already fairly quickly recovered in a residential area. A special unit of the police, who happened to be nearby, shot the boy after he attacked them.

MOTIVE

Joachim Herrmann, the Bavarian minister, argues that the Afghan man arrived alone in Germany. He first lived in a shelter and was recently collected in a foster home near Ochsenfurt.

Herrman additionally reported that the 17-year-old has called according to eyewitnesses Islamic slogans. German police last night searched the room of the teenager and found a homemade flag of Islam Prophetic State.

The investigation into the attack is still ongoing, but it appears that the boy acted alone.
