Liveable Rotterdam 'Short lazy ex-employees on their benefits'

Employers must "click" on the social services of unmotivated, former employees who apply for benefits after their dismissal. If they have not done their best, they must be deducted from their benefits, says Liveable Rotterdam.

,, The employer would have to say you do not do your best, then I do not renew your contract and I report it to the social services, '' said Liveable councilor Ingeborg Hoogveld.

The measure must be to prevent a stick which unmotivated and low-paid workers leave absolve themselves to claim benefits.

According Hoogveld is now very easy for this group Rotterdam to get rid of their employment without having consequences. ,, If you do not do your job, your employer you'd rather lose than rich. I want the reason known to the social services, '' said Hoogveld. ,, If the contract is not extended due to lack of motivation, a measure must follow to benefit. ''

Liveable Rotterdam wants to apply this policy to the unemployed, which is in "a care." ,, If this Rotterdam from their benefits find a job, you often see low motivation at work, '' said Hoogveld. ,, They already have problems at home. Doing mostly low-skilled work and receive little pay. ''

Livable believes that it is up to the Work and Income department to record and maintain contact with employers who take regular Rotterdam from this target group employees.Hoogveld suspects that employers will be reluctant to 'click' on a former employee.

Steps forward
,, Work is inextricably linked to taking steps forward. It is of course important that people remain motivated, '' Hoogveld argued yesterday at the committee. ,, Because of this interest in bringing forward discussions with employers, create understanding to notify the lack of motivation. '' The largest coalition party would soon file a motion to introduce this measure.

Councillor Martin Struijvenberg (work, LN) argues that now calls occasionally with an employer about the reason for dismissal. That, however, is done according to Hoogveld too little and not a contract is not renewed.
