Even poison at DuPont in Kerkrade

DuPont employees of the Lycra plant in Kerkrade decades exposed to hazardous solvent DMAc

The health risks of the chemical, used for lycra clothing, were known since 1986 from DuPont and the previous owner Ornatex.

Still, they let the staff unprotected lycra yarns shaving and washing, writes De Volkskrant,which relies on interviews with 25 more under (former) employees.

Justice is researching DuPont Lycra and Teflon plant in Dordrecht. Certainly 33 female employees of the Dordrecht plant were stillborn babies, miscarriages, cervical cancer or children with abnormalities by DMAc. DMAC state since 2011 in the so-called List of very high concern to the EU substances.

The Prosecution says first to await the reactions to the Volkskrant article, before the decision of the factory in Kerkrade will be included in the investigation of DuPont.
