Frank de Boer has not given up hope of reinforcements for Ajax. The Amsterdammers must first sell before new players can be attracted.

"It's not over yet, so let's just wait and see," said the trainer Friday at the press conference, the day before the league game with Ajax Vitesse. "We want to be champion, so if possible we get reinforcements."

It is clear that a new striker is top priority in Amsterdam. After Arek Milik is a long time nothing, with Anwar El Ghazi as any contingency. Yaya Sanogo is still not fit.

De Boer had previously announced that he and director of football affairs Marc Overmars hands and feet are tied. "We can not throw money down the drain, a new striker must be a targeted acquisition. And if we can not find them, we go with the group that we have now," said the coach at VI.
