After the long shortages in shops manufacturer Nutricia's European production of baby milk powder now quite screwing. Delivery to Netherlands doubles, but shops are encouraged to maintain their current policy of one pack per customer.

Verdubbeling Nederlandse babymelk, strenge regels blijven

Nutricia hopes the increased production to better meet the great demand for baby milk, such as Nutrilon. Increasing the production needed time because plants must meet very strict quality standards, the Dutch director Albertine van Wolfswinkel explains in the AD.

Baby Milk Scandal
At European level produced 50 million packs per year extra. The delivery to the Netherlands should double. Last year the production was already screwed, but this is not enough.

After the baby milk scandal in China which killed several children, trust the Chinese baby milk with a Chinese label anymore. Even if the milk is of the exact same manufacturer and complies with the same requirements.

Criminal gangs
Chinese therefore come flocking their baby milk strike here. Although supermarkets and drugstores generally use a client inherits only one suit that ensures all times of shortages.

According to Van Wolfswinkel was at her business much surprise when it emerged last year that there was a criminal trade in baby milk which even brute force was not shunned. Now Nutricia submit quarterly with the police.

Or the additional production well is going to help this time, is doubtful. Retail Netherlands calls it a 'nice gesture'. "But I have a hard head that it would be sufficient to remedy the problem in our stores," says Secretary retail crime Bert van Steeg.
