In Enschede, is an employee of the municipality attacked. There are reports that the employee was stabbed, but which are not confirmed by the municipality.
The officer himself can report it to the police. How is he to it, has not been reported by the authorities. What happened exactly, is unclear. The incident occurred on the outskirts of Enschede East, where near a refugee center to come.
Or a stabbing something with the protests has to do at the refugee center, is not clear. "There is still uncertainty about the exact facts which the incident took place and also the underlying motivation is still under review," the municipality of Enschede says in a statement.
Mayor Onno van Veldhuizen was shocked: "Violence against staff is always unacceptable." He says he is aware that the incident could lead to unrest in society and calls not to speculate on the cause.
