The Russian Athletics Federation to be suspended by the international athletics federation IAAF because of widespread doping. That takes the anti-doping agency WADA. Such a suspension would mean that Russian athletes no longer allowed to participate in contests.
WADA afternoon presented the results of an investigation into doping in the Russian athletics world. That investigation was initiated following a broadcast of the German TV channel ARD, late last year. In the documentary was massive and systematic doping revealed in the Russian athletics.
Suspended for life
If Russia is suspended, it is possible that the Russian athletes next year may not participate in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. At the previous Olympics in London Russia won 18 medals in track and field events: eight gold medals, five silver and as often times bronze. WADA says that include Russia owes the gold and bronze medal in the 800 meter has to doping. According to the agency should be suspended at least five runners life.
Evidence for doping were glossed over, including through the doping laboratory in Moscow.WADA believes the license of that laboratory should be repealed as soon as possible. The director of the lab should be fired, as it depends on the doping agency.
