Obama's historic visit to Cuba

US President Obama has landed in Havana for a historic visit to Cuba.

s-8.jpgHe is the first US president in 88 years who visited the communist country.

Upon his arrival he said that "it is great to be here." He tweeted "¿Que Bola Cuba?" Cuban slang for "How are you-doing?"

Obama with his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha. Also come along are congressmen and businessmen.

His first stop after the airport was a hotel in Havana, where he met employees of the US Embassy and their families. "It is a historic visit and a historic opportunity to get in contact with the Cuban people," Obama said.

The US president is running after the meeting with the embassy staff with his family through the old town of Havana for a historic tour. They will visit include the Cathedral in the Cuban capital.

The US president was only received at the airport by Cuban Foreign Minister and the US Ambassador. Tomorrow the President talks with President Castro and Tuesday he speaks dissidents of his regime.
Some Americans believe that President Raul Castro had to greet their president.
