The union is also preparing a collective matter for the rent increase for 'crooked tenants' to recover from the corporations and the government.

In total figure would be around 300 million euros. That amount has about half a million people with a middle or high income paid extra rent increases since 2013.

The union also wants to be reduced to the current rent of that group.

Privacy

The Council of State ruled in February that the tax violated privacy laws by providing income information to corporations. These data were used to determine whether someone deserved more than more than 33 thousand a year.

The tenants with incomes above that threshold were given an additional rent increase. The increase was introduced to discourage skewed housing, tenants who live in social housing with incomes too high.

After the verdict the Tenants already announced that it would explore the possibility of a judicial process. According Woonbond has since not responded to a request to talk about a settlement. Therefore, a lawsuit is a logical next step. "But we still want to talk, we are quite willing to make a deal," said Ronald Paping the Woonbond.

Interim measures

In the lawsuit on Thursday trying to arrange the union already that income data from tenants no longer be used this year. The government would now which processing data to transmit to them as soon as the corporations law that makes possible again.

The law provides that lies with the Senate. Until that law through the data will not be transferred. But the union now wants to also process the data stops until then.
