At least 34 dead and 230 wounded, the toll of the terror in Zaventem and Brussels is heavy. Yet everything indicates that the perpetrators wanted to create even more casualties.

media_l_8512141-1.jpgWhen the detection picture of three suspected terrorists in Zaventem yesterday afternoon was distributed, a taxi driver got straight to the police. He recognized the men because he had brought them to the airport early in the morning. It was the cab driver noticed that he could not help the suspects with their luggage. Moreover, he was able to tell the investigators that the trio wanted to take too much luggage, more than could fit in his taxi. Thus, they were forced to leave some bags. And they were angry.

Heavy nail bombs
The police rushed after the tip to the house where the trio was picked up in the station near Schaerbeek, and found the suitcases. There appeared heavy nail bombs to sit in. During the search were further chemicals and IS detected a flag terror group. The fugitive accused was not present in the house.

At the airport finally exploded two bombs. But there was also a third party who did not explode. Sources are talking about a powerful jumping harness dozens of kilos which could provide many more victims.

Salah Abdeslam
Investigators wonder why the attack took place just now, one week before the very busy Easter exodus. It is suggested that the terrorists have their plans in advance, due to the arrest of Salah Abdeslam. Abdeslam's fingerprints were found in the apartment at Forest where detonators were found. Which would have been earmarked for the attack in Zaventem. Thereby possibly even a role for Abdeslam.

Moreover, the arrested terrorist hinted that he wants to talk in exchange for a reduced sentence. That may have hunted the perpetrators.
